Blue Mountain Capital has backed a new expansion phase for its hotel platform, incorporating new properties in strategic tourist destinations across Spain. This transaction forms part of the hospitality sector consolidation strategy that the family office has been executing successfully over recent years.

Selective growth in hospitality

Blue Mountain’s hotel platform has followed a model of both organic and inorganic growth, combining operational improvement of existing assets with the selective addition of new properties. The strategy prioritises destinations with diversified tourist demand, capable of generating stable occupancy during both peak and off-peak periods.

The new properties join a portfolio that already exceeds fifteen hotels, creating a platform with sufficient scale to generate synergies in procurement, distribution, technology, and staff training.

A sector in transformation

The Spanish hotel sector is undergoing a significant transformation. The post-pandemic recovery has revealed structural changes in demand patterns: greater weight of domestic travellers, growth in experiential tourism, an increase in extended stays linked to remote work, and rising expectations regarding sustainability.

These trends favour professionalised operators capable of adapting their offering, investing in asset renovation, and delivering a differentiated experience. Blue Mountain’s hotel platform is well positioned to capitalise on these dynamics through its focus on continuous improvement and management professionalisation.

Value creation through active management

Blue Mountain’s hospitality model extends well beyond asset ownership. The family office actively participates in defining commercial strategy, optimising distribution channels, investing in refurbishments, and implementing management systems that improve both guest experience and operational profitability.

This approach has generated substantial improvements in key sector indicators — RevPAR, ADR, and occupancy levels — across properties managed under this model. Blue Mountain will continue to support the growth of its hotel platform, always guided by selectivity and a commitment to operational excellence.
